"How To Make It In America" Music Video: Luis Guzman By Duck Sauce
Awesome promo by HBO's How to Make it in America. They snatch up Duck Sauce's "Barbra Streisand" and transform it in to "Luis Guzman" (who stars on the show).
Let Luis Guzman take you around New York's LES and show you the ropes. Meet his friends: Justin Beiber, Mark Wahlberg, Kid Cudi, Bryan Greenburg, Lake Bell, Victor Rasuk, Duck Sauce, Q-Tip, Pharrell Williams, Asher Roth, Pusha T, and many more.

The Weeknd - Thursday (Rainy Mood Version) [Mixtape]

Rainy Mood version combines the original Thursday mixtape with sort of a "rain" backdrop...in other words if you were listening to these tracks with a rain storm outside of your window. Sounds corny, but it's actually pretty fitting given the type of music at hand.

Lana Del Rey - Video Games
Read about Lana Del Ray in this post, which is basically about how the trendy blogs hate her because she's getting too much attention. Right. Because if you get too much online attention for your singing ability (and you're decent looking), they have to find a way to pick the artist apart. My Life: Boardwalk Empire S.2 Premeire
Real quick "My Life" post since I don't really want to spoil anything nor did I have anything but my camera phone to document the night....but.....Last Wed I had the opportunity to attend the season two NYC premiere of HBO's Boardwalk Empire at the famous Ziegfeld Theater in midtown Manhattan.
If you don't know what Boardwalk Empire is, then you're definitely out of the loop. It has been one of the most hyped shows in the past years that took home a number of Golden Globes and Emmy's. At the premiere, they showed the first episode of the lauded show. All I can say is season two is bigger and more action packed right from the start. Expect smart dialogue and great character development as well.
After seeing all the stars roll through the red carpet and premiere, including people like Martin Scorsese, Mark Wahlberg, Chris Bosh, and Chelsea Handler, it was time for the after party. It went down at the Waldorf Astoria hotel ballroom.
It was a lavish affair with the stars from the show, industry folk and 1920's show girls. Craps tables and other casino games laced the ballroom floor to keep up the Atlantic City casino theme.
All in all, judging from the first episode and the excitement in the room, it looks like it's going to be another season that people will be talking about for a long time. Boardwalk Empire season two premieres on Sunday, September 25th at 9pm.

My Life: Fashion's Night Out W/ Kid Cudi, "Back to the Fture"
So if you don’t already know, Fashion’s Night Out is, essentially, a night where all the stores are open late, hold promotions, have celebrities appear/perform, etc. Obviously, like most things, NYC is the mecca for such a night.
This year, while I wasn’t as active in participating in the events, my FNO was short but very sweet. Click below for a number of my pictures and my quick recap of my 45 minute night from 9:15pm until about 10pm.
I was actually fairly busy last night, but decided late (events generally started at 5-6ish) that I would, at least, go downtown and check out the scene.
After arriving downtown at about 9:15 or so, I tried to link up with my friends over at ItsBongoBoy. Unfortunately, he wound up being busy with his interviewing thing, so I didn’t hear back until later. No worries, because I spotted AR from Good Fella Media hitting the streets. After a quick chat, I walked around the corner and spotted Stefan from Brilliantly Blunt documenting the night. All coincidental.
The mood of the night was chaos. People taking over the streets, jumping on top of cars, riding on the back of trucks as they were trying to get through SoHo. Insanity. Luckily, I was heading a little south from the core of the chaos to 21 Mercer.
Once there, I was greeted with this ^
Oh and this under it!
Turns out I didn’t need to be flown out to LA to experience their super secret event. NYC had its own event complete with a Delorean from Back to the Future II. If you don’t already know, Nike is promoting this ‘Back For the Future’ event as a benefit for Michael J. Fox’s (Marty McFly) Parkinson’s Disease foundation.
I understand that the proceeds go to a tremendous cause, but call me selfish…I wish the shoes they are auctioning were somehow available to the public that doesn’t have $37,000 dollars to spare…I mean come on.
I’ll take a functioning version of this Hoverboard, though….ha!
The whole time I was outside, I failed to recognize what was going on inside. Mr. Kid Cudi was getting a personal look at the infamous Marty McFly Nike Air Mag shoes. Cudi emerged from the store with a smile on his face as his fans greeted him outside. He gave a few “What Up’s” and shook a few hands but kept it moving.
He hopped in his Escalade but proceeded to roll the window down and continue greeting fans. Props to him for showing love to the people.
When I sit back and think about it, the idea of “celebrity” still boggles my mind. I was talking to this guy about 3 years ago and he was literally another face in the crowd. Now look at him. International music star, actor, clothing designer, musical inspiration for many. He probably hopped off the subway to his A Kid Named Cudi mixtape release in 2008 and now he’s quickly ushered from door to door in his truck as fans chase him. Maybe it’s just me, but I find that funny to think about.
Anyways, I was invited inside after Cudi had left and I checked out these bad boys. The Back to the Future Nike Air Mag’s aka the Marty McFly’s.
That was the sign next to the display case.
Exactly like the movie!!! Grey upper that looked like it was made out of Nike Air Presto material. Grey midsole with turquoise speckles. Elongated tongue and upper with the Nike strap going across. The bottom and back panel lights up with the touch of a button. Clear sole with the glacier blue lights. Green, yellow and red LED lights on the back heel cup. No auto-lacing system quite yet, unfortunately. The beautiful ugliness of Marty McFly’s shoes from 2015!!!
And that's it!

Santigold ft. Karen O – Go!
Pretty Girls: Emilia Clarke
Speaking of Game of Thrones, here is Emilia Clarke. There's actually not all that much background on her because her breakout role - which can take actors years to find - is actually her first real role as character Daenerys Targaryen in Thrones.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne
This past week, we had an interesting featured added to the office - The Iron Throne. This is a replica of the throne used in HBO's new series, Game of Thrones (which premiered tonight). I'm not in to the fantasy genre, but Thrones plays out more like a medieval epic than like a Lord of the Rings type program. Saw the first two episodes a couple weeks back and they're actually quite good.

The Weeknd - House of Balloons (Mixtape)
Toronto artist The Weeknd has been making a lot of viral noise with the release of House of Balloons. It's a melodic mix of music with stellar production behind the vocals. Below are two sample tracks - "What You Need" and "The Morning" - and below those is the DL link to the full mixtape. The Hangover II Trailer (Full Trailer)
Here's the first full trailer for the upcoming Hangover II movie. Looks like the exact same premise as the first one, but I'm sure it'll bring the laughs.
Kid Cudi - Capcom (Unreleased)
Says Kid Cudi of the leak:"The song in which the world has titled “capcom” was done early last year for a project chad hugo and kenna were working on for a Street Fighter game and they reached out and asked me to be a part of it. This was a demo reference and i never really got to rework my verses or see the project through. Its old and isnt of my discography. Kanye West ft. Kid Cudi, Rihanna - All of the Lights [Music Video]
This seems to be a fan favorite off of Kanye West's latest album and finally the music video quietly arrives over the weekend. It's nothing all that groundbreaking, but it gets the point across. Check it out.
Walk the Moon - Anna Sun (Music Video)
I like this song a lot. Heard it about 2 weeks ago and it's been in my rotation. Can't put my finger on it, but it reminds me of something I used to listen to a long time.
Lady Gaga X Supreme NY
Everyone's favorite artist of the moment teamed up with street/skatewear staple Supreme NY for their latest celebrity collaborative campaign. The images went up all around SoHo over the weekend and I'm sure they'll be gone by the end of the week. This slab of posters was on the corner of Houston and Mulberry.

Battery Park Sunset
Took this today at about 4:15. I liked a number of things about this: the sunset, the circular pattern with the sun beaming through, the seagull profile and the fact that the Statue of Liberty is peeking through in the background. Pretty cool shot in my opinion and it looks even crisper when I don't have to make the photo file smaller for the sake of the site.
Bryan Greenberg ft. Kid Cudi – You Can Run
Actor Bryan Greenberg recruits his HBO “How to Make it in America” co-star Kid Cudi for the newest track off of his upcoming album, We Don’t Have Forever. It’s an acoustic based jam with Kid Cudi lending his melodic singing voice. If interested, Greenberg’s album drops this Tuesday.
